Learn @ MDC MOA+D

The Museum of Art + Design at Miami Dade College encourages the appreciation and understanding of visual aesthetics through direct engagement with original works of art and design, and serves as a catalyst for the cultivation of creative dialog and diverse perspectives through the arts. The museum offers unique learning experiences through its museum education program MOA+D TOWER STUDIO, community outreach initiative GOGO MOAD!, and through its varied public lecture series. MOA+D’s education programs are designed to teach, connect, and open communication between visiting professionals and the local community in a way that is both personal and informative.

Miami Scrollathon

In March of 2016 , MDC Museum of Art + Design invited artists and brothers Steven and William Ladd to bring their Scrollathon workshop to Miami . The Ladd brothers worked with 1,115 participants from 16 schools and organizations throughout South Florida. Students learned how the artists use recycled materials to make scrolls in their artwork. They thencollaborated to make a group installation, as well as an individual scroll to keep. The experience is centered on the Ladd’s core values: Spend your life doing what you love. Be focused and disciplined. Collaborate.
